We just got word today that at the recent Canadian Homebrew competition, a barley wine brewed at Fermentations won gold in it's category, and came in second for best of show. It is great to see the creativity and great beers that we can help people achieve using our services. Cheers to the winners!

Cloud 9

I just got a call from a friend who was at the provincial wine competition- I was awarded 3 bronze, 2 silver and one gold medal- but I don't know for which entries!

At the competition, they finally presented medals from last years national competition where our Beer School Czech Pils won a silver medal as Ontario's representative. Hopefully it will not take them till next year to let me know which entries won medals today!

And why am I doing this?

I have been asked many times about what special things are coming up at Fermentations, how to get the "inside scoop" on what Grapemasters will be doing, what my favorite beers are, and other inside things that we are up to at Fermentations. I thought that this would be a good way of giving all of you the inside look at what Scott, Greg, and I are thinking about, or working on. We will post randomly , whenever we think we have something important to say, so check back often- you never know when we may have something of earth shattering importance, or at least something thirst quenching to say!

It must be bar-b-que season because...

We are seeing the usual migration to blonder, more refreshing beers. ESB brewers are choosing more pale ales, and we are seeing more requests for European lagers. so here is my inside hint- just brew a batch of our continental pils- gold colored, with a beautiful hop nose, and just enough bitterness to make you say "I'm refreshed!"
